About

Mission Statement

The Laurel Park PTA’s mission is to improve the school community and provide an enriching, educational environment for our students.  We believe this is possible through support and collaboration with parents, teachers and the staff of Laurel Park Elementary.

History of the PTA

NCPTA is North Carolina’s oldest and largest volunteer organization advocating for the education, health, safety, and success of all children and youth while building strong families and communities.

  • Organized on November 4,1919 at the First Baptist Church in Charlotte

  • Mrs. Joseph Garibaldi of Charlotte was elected the first state President

  • The NC Congress of Colored Parents and Teachers was organized on April 2, 1927 at Shaw University in Raleigh

  • The two Congresses united on April 22, 1969

PTA Dollars at Work

The LPES PTA pays for and facilitates the following programs:

​$40,000: Two shade structures on the playground and a new K-2 basketball hoop

Communications Committee Form

Use the Communication Committee Form to ensure your event or announcement reaches our school community! Whether you need information shared on the website, social media, or in the PTA newsletter, this form helps us keep everyone informed and engaged. Submit your request, and we’ll take care of the rest!

Corporate Sponsorship Form

The LPES PTA is seeking partnerships with local businesses to help support our students, teachers, and families. Sponsors receive special perks based on their sponsorship level. If you own a business or know someone who might be interested, please visit this page or download and complete the form above.

Reimbursement Request Form

Use the LPE PTA Reimbursement Request form to request reimbursement from the PTA for teacher mini grants, club supplies, program materials, etc.

To submit a reimbursement request:

  1. Complete the PTA reimbursement request form (download and print one or grab one from the front office).

  2. Include the original receipt.  For online purchases, include a printout.  All receipts should be itemized and include the date of purchase, the total, and the form of payment.

  3. Submit the form and receipt(s) to the PTA mailbox. Allow 4 weeks for reimbursement.
