5th Grade Legacy Project

Each year, LPES 5th graders create a Legacy Project to commemorate their time at the school. Previous projects include the large metal penguin, the metal circle sculpture, dragonfly weaving in the cafeteria, fabric banners and mosaic penguins in the entrance, circle fabric weaving in the library, and several large murals.

Cultural Arts Programming is made possible through PTA fundraising and a grant from United Arts Council. Thank you to everyone who has supported the PTA financially. As with all of our Cultural Arts events, tracked out students and their parents may attend the assembly.

Nov. 17-21: 5th Grade Legacy Project with Virginia Maier

During the week of November 17, our 5th-grade students will work with local artist Virginia Maier to create a self-portrait picket that will be installed near the larger playground. Many thanks to the PTA who ensures our 5th graders have an opportunity to leave their creative mark at Laurel Park before transitioning to middle school.
