Thursdays in the LPES Media Center from 3:45 - 4:30 pm

Welcome to the LPES Chess Club! We meet on Thursdays in the LPES Media Center from 3:45 - 4:30 pm. Please review our complete calendar below. 

Dismissal: Parents, when you come to pick up your child at 4:30, please wait in the carpool loop. We will escort club members to the carpool line in the front circle once the room is cleaned and the materials have been stored properly.

Goals: Our goals are to have fun, learn, and play lots of chess!

Club Rules

  • Demonstrate great sportsmanship during and after the game. Above all: Treat everyone with dignity and respect!

  • Stay at your chess board, activity station, or computer. Do not walk around.

  • Be careful not to distract your opponent or teammates.

  • During your turn, you may only touch one piece at a time. Never touch your opponent’s pieces.

  • Once you take your hand off a piece, your move is over. The only exception is if you made an illegal move.

  • Tell your opponent when they are in check or checkmate.

  • Have fun!
