Mileage Club

How can my student join the 2026-2027 Mileage Club?

Fill out this form! Families interested in Mileage Club must fill out this form each session, even if the student(s) have participated previously. Students who do not have a form filled out will not be able to participate. They will be asked to cheer for students and/or assist the club leader(s).

We require that forms be filled out each year in order to assure that we have the most current information about each our students!

What is Mileage Club?

The Mileage Club meets at the LPES track between the playgrounds. Students will walk or jog and club leaders will tally the number of laps completed by each student. The goal of this club is to enjoy some moderate athletic activity before school and for students to set and celebrate personal goals.

This is not a race or a competition. This is a club where we can share our love of running/jogging/walking in the beautiful outdoors.

Students are required to wear sneakers and to bring a water bottle to the club.

If a student isn't in sneakers, theywill not be able to walk/run. Instead, they can cheer for the students and/or assist the club leader(s).

When does the Mileage Club meet?

We will meet Tuesday & Friday mornings at 8:15 AM, October 6, 2026 through May 28, 2027. For more information on the specific dates the club will meet, club members will receive information via email. Cancellations due to weather or lack of adult volunteer availability will be communicated via email as well.

Adults (and siblings) are welcome to join us!

Please stay and enjoy the club with your student(s)- feel free to enjoy the track, or help to keep count of laps with the parent volunteers. We look forward to seeing you! We have also welcomed younger siblings (aka future Penguins) who are accompanied by an adult.

Turkey Trot 2026

The Turkey Trot 5K Run at Apex Community Park on Saturday, November 21, 2026. If you are interested in running in this race, most families sign up for the recreational level. You can get more information from the Town of Apex page: https://www.apexnc.org/538/Turkey-Trot-5K-Run.

Run the Peak 2027

Run the Peak takes place in Apex on Saturday, March 6, 2027. There is a 5K, 10K, and new this year, a FREE Kids Fun Run.
